Children and young people

We offer Play Therapy and Creative Arts Counselling to support the emotional healing and development of children and young people. Our holistic, therapeutic approach provides a safe space for individuals to express themselves and work through challenges.

Our therapists use both directive and non-directive methods to help children explore their emotions through creative arts, especially when they struggle to articulate feelings. This approach supports emotional processing, helping children cope with trauma, substance misuse, and other difficulties while considering their family, social, and physical context.

By encouraging self-expression and problem-solving through creative techniques, we help children develop resilience, improve relationships, and foster emotional growth. Our goal is to empower them to face challenges, promote wellbeing, and inspire positive change in their lives.

Therapeutic factors that make therapy/counselling effective

  • Communication powers (children expressing their conscious and unconscious thoughts and feelings through play)
  • Teaching powers (children learn better when play is used to instruct),
  • Abreaction powers (reliving past negative events and releasing associated emotions in a safe environment)
  • Rapport-building powers (clients like therapists who are playful and fun-loving)
